Hardworking Jackie is unhappily married to Carmelo. When a friend of Carmelo's, Summer, comes to live with them, Jackie is furious and judgmental toward her due to Summer's profession as an exotic dancer. Little do either of these ladies know, that life will never be the same after this experience as feelings begin to erupt, hearts break, and secrets are revealed.
Told in two parts, Part I explores the exploitation of Summer's industry, the unhappiness and inevitable entrapment Jackie finds herself in, the emotional imprisonment of life for both these women, and the blossoming of unlikely friendships.
Part II, on the other hand, takes us into the world of female sexuality, attraction, self-discovery, and the predestined fate of falling in love.

It wasn't like my fantasy stories, no great adventure to discover inner powers to change the world--oh, wait, it was. There were two princesses and two knights in shining armor, but no princes or other male hero-type. The womyn were the stars of their own lives, good or bad.
This is a book of self growth. This book was of poetry. This book was one of wisdom.
This was not erotica. It is a story of two womyn and their self discovery. I felt I learned more about myself by reading this book. I look forward to more by Tiffany Sapphire

An interesting lesbian fiction author... Tiffany Sapphire is someone who I have met on facebook. I was able to get her first book free and I just finished reading it today. She seems to be a very nice person although I have not met her in real life. We do both live in New York however.
Anyway Sapphire's book Summertime (No Man's Land) was an interesting one. I was able to fly through it. There were some parts that could have been expanded upon. For example, I don't think it realistic that Jackie and Summer fell in love that quickly.
The story is about a woman named Jackie who is an unhappy marriage with Carmelo. Carmelo's friend Summer comes to stay with them but Jackie holds a prejudice to her at first because she is a stripper. However, love comes at you in many forms and sometimes right before your eyes.
Anyway, it is a cute romance story and Sapphire sends a strong message about the lesbian community in her book. She breaks the traditional stereotypes and isn't afraid to delve into the labels of femme lesbians and butches. (I personally don't fit into a label lol.) Still, it makes a great read and she mentions a brief moment in lgbt history with the Stone Wall Riots. She also mentions some pop culture references which I personally found annoying but it did help with the tone of the book.
Tiffany Sapphire is a writer to watch. I hope she continues to get better with each new book she produces. I'll be looking for the sequel as well once it is out.
Well written. But like most books, this could use an editor. Grammatical errors, spelling errors, just plain errors. The author needs to write more. A lot more. You could tell she has so much to say, and yet seems to hold back. Intentionally or not, I'm not sure. If she would do 500 pages, then have someone critique it down to 400, she would get 4 stars easily. You can see it there on the pages but it's just not written out. My suggestion is to read this and then hope she writes more. I know I"ll be looking for her next book. I like new writers. Wish I could do it. Good luck Tiffany. Disclaimer nobody paid me a dime for my opinion, but I'm always ready to put in my 2 cents worth.
I love how it turned out, I don't care if it was short. I can't wait to read more of her books! I like how she wrote it. Thanks for putting a little insight into the world of stripping and coming out. I love the exchange of damsel in distress. Great discriptions I could actualy imagine hanging in the wings watching all this happen.
